Belarus has staged a historic protest against the president who has been in power for 26 years, in which people have called on him to step down.
Hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated in the capital, Minsk. Anti-presidential slogans were chanted in Independence Square, while rallies were also held in other cities.
President Alexander Lukashenko has not only refused to step down but has threatened to crackdown on dissent.
