PESHAWAR: A meeting of banned outfits led by Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has decided to target government officials, politicians and law enforcers in tribal districts and settled areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting was held in the second week of September in Afghanistan’s Kunar province.
An advisory issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central Police Office directed the relevant authorities to take preventive action.
The advisory report revealed that TTP Ameer Mufti Noor Wali headed the meeting where it was decided that joint terrorist activities would be conducted in tribal districts and settled areas to create law and order situation inside Pakistan.
The terrorist commanders were given task to target pro-government individuals/ high rank officers, politicians and former law enforcement agencies members and collect extortion from wealthy individuals.
Some of the targets revealed by sources include former PTI MNA belonging to Bajaur, who frequently visits his hometown, Mian Iftikhar Hussain of ANP, two unidentified leaders of ANP, Chairman QWP Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, pro-government elders and politicians of district Mohmand, police officials of district Mardan and Charsadda.
