The Health Department of Balochistan has changed its policy on coronavirus testing in the province. It will now test only those who show symptoms of the virus.
The department has closed down the Fatima Jinnah Laboratory, the only lab where residents could get themselves tested for COVID-19.
Any individuals suspected of contracting the virus can only be screened after they have completed a 14-day quarantine period at their homes.
The decision was taken despite a lack of laboratory testing capabilities. It has now postponed the findings of more than 2,000 studies.
So far, Balochistan has registered over 1,300 cases of coronavirus.
