Balochistan makes DNA test mandatory before issuing CNIC
The Balochistan Assembly has passed resolution to make DNA tests mandatory for every citizen before issuing the computerised national identity card (CNIC).
The BA passed the resolution unanimously, citing that the measure will help ensure strict security in the country.
The Balochistan Assembly’s session was held under the chairmanship of Acting Speaker Sardar Babar Musakhel while the said resolution was presented by the leader of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Bushra Rind.
The resolution stated that not having a database of DNA with NADRA creates difficulties in identifying criminals.
Addressing the session, Bushra Rind demanded that the provincial government should approach the federal government for declaring DNA test mandatory for every citizen for issuing national identity cards (NIC) to ensure more strict security in the country.
Meanwhile, provincial minister Noor Muhammad Dummar raised a gas shortage issue saying, the citizens of Quetta city and other areas including Ziarat are facing shortage of gas since the winter season starts.
“Even in areas where gas is being supplied, the pressure has dropped,” he added.
Addressing the House, Provincial Ministe furthered that due to gas shortage the citizens of Ziarat are forced to cut juniper trees from the forests to warm their homes.
