Balenciaga deletes Instagram feed in support of Iranian women

Famous international fashion brand Balenciaga deleted all the pictures from their official Instagram page in support of Iranian Women and memory of Mahsa Amini.

Taking to Instagram, Balenciaga uploaded a black and white picture of the phrase “Woman Life Freedom” on its Instagram page and captioned it, “Balenciaga, Kering and the Kering Foundation have always supported the fight for basic rights and women’s freedom. We support all Iranian Women, in memory of Mahsa”.

Right now the whole world, especially women all across the mourning and protesting for 22-year-old Iranian girl Mahsa Amini who died in police custody after being severely beaten by morality police over the Hijab law.

After the heartbreaking and tragic murder of Mahsa Amini at the hands of Iran’s “Ethical Police” several brands, celebrities and public figures took to social media to express their support for Iranian women’s freedom and life.

The fact that a big fashion brand Balenciaga has not only brought attention to and expressed support for Iran’s women’s rights movement, which is directly tied to what women wear, is surprising (and in a way, relieving). but also entirely erase the rest of the Instagram page a few days after the Spring 2023 collection debuted during Paris Fashion Week to emphasise the point.
