The man who had been projected by media as fiancé of Bakhtawar B-Zardari has turned out to be her fan and party supporter based in the United Kingdom.
The man whose picture with Bakhtawar went viral has been identified as Chaudhry Sohaib Ahmed. While, local media reports had presented him as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader’s fiancé, Mahmood Chaudhry.
In a video statement, Sohaib Ahmed said the picture doing rounds on internet was taken at a party meeting in 2014. Repudiating claims of social media users, he said he was not a Qadiani and he was a true Muslim. “I believe in Allah (SWT) and I am a follower of Prophet Muhammed (SAWW),” he said.
He said, “Bakhtawar is like a sister to me. My relation with her is of a sister and brother. I am associated with the PPP since my educational days.”

In a tweet, Bakhtawar had also clarified that the man she was going to be engaged to was different than the one who was being reported by media.
Quoting a press release of the Pakistan Peoples Party media cell, which gives details about the man, She had said, “(I) Have absolutely NO affiliation with any family in the US which is being popularly quoted by most media. Hope this clears up all misinformation.”
