Babar Azam to lead Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 8

Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam will lead the Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) which is set to start in February next year.
Taking to twitter, Franchise’s official account announced the development with a caption, “Announcing King Babar as Peshawar Zalmi’s Captain for HBL PSL8.”
Following the announcement, Azam said: “ Peshawar Zalmi’s captaincy is an honour for me as I am excited for the new challenge. Peshawar Zalmi is one of the best teams in PSL”
Director Peshawar Zalmi Muhammad Akram said that Pakistan team has reached to the finals of T20 World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2022 in Babar Azam’s captaincy.
“His experience will help Peshawar Zalmi,” he added.
Franchise owner Javed Afridi has confirmed the development on his social media account.
On the hand, Karachi Kings announced that the team will be lead by Pakistan’s left-handed all-rounder Imad Wasim.
“We are excited to announce Imad Wasim as our new captain. He will lead the Kings Squad in HBL PSL8,” the Instagram post reads.
PSL 8 is scheduled from February 9 to March 19 in Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. Lahore Qalandars will defend their title.
