Babar Azam likely to lead test team in New Zealand tour

Karachi: After T20’s and Odi’s, Babar Azam will also lead the test team on the New Zealand tour. He has been assured of an appointment as a captain of all formats of the Pakistan cricket team.
PCB had appointed Azhar Ali as the captain of the national team in place of Sarfraz Ahmed in October last year, but he was not able to make an impression.
In the last Test of the tour of England, he declared a return to form by scoring a century, but due to failure in the first Test, Pakistan had to lose the series.
According to the sources, several days ago Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani had asked Babar Azam to lead the Pakistan Cricket team in Tests as well as ODIs and T20s. Board officials had also assured him of making him an empowered captain.
