Babar Azam levels Kohli’s record of fastest 3000 T20I runs
Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam achieved another milestone in the shortest format as he levelled Indian batter Virat Kohli’s record to score 3000 T20I runs in 81 innings.
Babar Azam completed 3000 runs in the 81st innings of his career in the sixth T20 match against England at Ghaddafi stadium, Lahore.
Earlier, the record was achieved by Indian batsman and former captain Virat Kohli.
Babar Azam is the fifth batsman to score 3000 runs in T20I, before him Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill and Paul Stirling have also scored 3000 T20I runs.
Notably, Babar crossed the milestone of 3000 T20 international runs in the shortest time. He completed the feat in six years and 24 days, while Virat Kohli crossed this milestone in ten years and 275 days.
Babar Azam is the first Pakistani cricketer to score 3000 T20I runs.
