Babar Azam hopes he will achieve and succeed like Virat Kohli

Pakistan’s T20I captain Babar Azam has said he has a vision of playing as his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli has done.
“He (Kohli) is one of the best players in the world whereas I have a lot to achieve at this moment,” Babar said in a conversation with Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle. “I want to be a player like him and win matches for my country.”
The batsman said subcontinent players might have similar styles of batting and accepted that this is the case with him and Kohli too. “We both have similarities but I try to do something different.”
He went on to say he likes to keep checking how Kohli and Australia’s Steve Smith perform.
“I track their performances in different conditions. Don’t play so that my name is taken with those prolific players. I just want to make myself, the fans and the team happy.”
Babar Azam also added that he is never satisfied with his performances. “I always think about the mistakes that I made and how to work on it and never tend to show off. I just look at the top five rankings and hope to stay there.”
He says that during foreign tours, he does not use social media, because it increases pressure on him and makes him think in a negative way.
