Last night was a very hard pill to swallow for Pakistani fans after the close encounter defeat against Australia. But a video of the dressing room has surfaced on social media showcasing Babar Azam being a brave captain backing his players.
A video shared by PCB captured Babar Azam motivating his players after last night’s Semi-Finals defeat.
Babar Azam has been exceptional on the field but this time around his off-the-field leadership has won many hearts. Babar Azam admitted that their team did not play well in the Semi-Finals as Australia chased the target in 19 overs to qualify for the Final of the T20 World Cup.
But Babar Azam showed qualities of true leadership when he said no one will point fingers at each other. They played as a team and lost as a team.
“We have to learn from our defeat,” remarked Babar Azam. He further emphasized everyone to back each other. He mentioned the team to keep their “head up high,” and “In Sha Allah, they will come back stronger than ever.”
The skipper of Pakistan’s national team exclaimed “our unity should not be broken.” Babar was happy with every player’s commitment for the Semi-Finals and he said he expected this maturity from his teammates.
Saqlain Mushtaq, the interim head coach of the Pakistani side also bucked up his players and said that we have to go from here with a lot to learn and strengthen our friendship bond even further.
Shadab Khan’s four wickets, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman’s half centuries were not enough on the day as Matthew Wade’s unbeaten 41 runs of 17 balls took the match away from Pakistan as Australia qualified for the Final.
Whatever happened, it’s in the past for Pakistani fans as they back their team after such a good campaign.
Australia will meet New Zealand on November 14 (Sunday) for the Final of the T20 World Cup 2021.
