Authorities to seal parts of Karachi due to coronavirus

On Tuesday, District Health Officer wrote a letter to the authorities concerned about sealing parts of 16 union councils in the western zone of Karachi over the novel outbreak of coronavirus.
According to the letter, in Gadap Town, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Khuda Ki Basti, 34 cases of coronavirus were reported whereas the UC 6 Surjani Sector has 37 patients.
Twenty carriers of viruses are being treated in Kemari UC 1 and Saeedabad, 32 in Sultanabad UC, 37 in Baldia Town and Islamnagar, 134 in Saeedabad UC 5, 27 in UC 6 Mujahid Colony and 149 patients were reported in Metroville Town Site.
Hyderabad’s deputy commissioner shared that the list of areas to be placed under a smart lockdown was finalized.
However, the commissioner said the DC will approve the final list, adding that the lockdown will be imposed after Sindh government approves.
On the other hand, on his two-day official visit to Sindh today, Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Karachi to discuss various issues including the COVID-19 pandemic with the province ‘s political stakeholders.
The Premier will inspect the Governor’s House mobile hospital established for coronavirus patients. He will also meet with Pakistan ‘s provincial lawmakers Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement coalition parties – Pakistan and the Grand Democratic Alliance.
