DI KHAN: The department of Excise and Taxation Dera Ismail Khan in a big raid foiled the attempt to smuggle antiquities worth crores of rupees.
The antiquities were recovered from a citizen during the action taken under the Antiquities Act. On directive of Department of Archeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all the artifacts and antiquities were handed over to the incharge Town Hall Museum, DI Khan.
Experts believe that the antiquities are thousands of years old. Director Archeology Dr Abdul Samad paid tribute to the excise team for the timely action.
The antiquities were being brought from Balochistan to KP in a passenger bus. The man sitting beside the antiquities expressed dissociation from the artifacts.
