Atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir reflects the Anti-Muslim “Hindutva” agenda of the extremist RSS-BJP organization, PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support to the Kashmiri people in their struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination and said that peace, security and development in the region depended on the Jammu and Kashmir conflict. India should give Kashmiris the right to exercise their free and fair referendum under the auspices of the United Nations.
In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Prime Minister said that today the people of Pakistan are celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day to reaffirm their unwavering support to the Kashmiris in struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.
Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute which needs to be resolved in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. The human rights situation in Kashmir is deteriorating. Hundreds of Kashmiri people have been martyred as a result of the inhumane military siege which has been going on for almost two and a half years now.
The Prime Minister said that the Indian occupying forces were indiscriminately using brutal force against Kashmiri men, women, children and the elderly. This campaign of unbridled repression has targeted Kashmiri youth in particular. The worst manifestation of tyranny in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir is the use of pellet guns and the destruction of streets, including the collective punishment of the population. The deliberate arrests of human rights defenders and the refusal to hand over the bodies of martyrs to their heirs is a matter of grave concern to people around the world.
He said that India had committed the worst form of state terrorism to shake the resolve of the Kashmiri people and crush their legitimate struggle. The entire Indian state machinery is involved in these unspeakable crimes against humanity. The Prime Minister said that Indian tactics aimed at turning the Muslim majority in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a minority on their own soil.
It violates international law, including UN Security Council resolutions and the Fourth Geneva Convention. He said that the nature of the ongoing atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir reflects the anti-peace and anti-Muslim Hindutva agenda of the extremist RSS-BJP organization. India has destabilized the entire region.
The Prime Minister said that as the “Ambassador of Kashmir”, I assure you once again that Pakistan would continue to extend all possible support to its Kashmiri brothers and sisters. It is time for the international community to hold India accountable for the heinous crimes committed in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
