ISLAMABAD: Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa on Monday relinquished the additional charge of the special assistant to prime minister on information and broadcasting.
In a tweet on Monday, Asim Saleem Bajwa said he had requested Prime Minister Imran to relinquish him from the additional portfolio of special assistant on information & broadcasting. He said the prime minister had approved his request.
On Sept 4, Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa had decided to resign as special assistant to prime minister on information and broadcasting after corruption allegations were levelled on him by an America-based journalist, however his request was later turned down by the prime minister then.
Now Asim Bajwa would continue to be chairman of the CPEC Authority, as he wanted to pay his full attention on the CPEC projects for they were future of the country.
