“Asif had four stitches in his hand, Shadab’s ear was bleeding,” Saqlain Mustaq responds to critics
Pakistan Head coach Saqlain Mushtaq backed his team in the post-match press conference and said that people have been drawing conclusions from outside without having any idea what’s going inside the dressing room.
During the press conference in Dubai, Saqlain Mushtaq said about skipper Babar Azam that: ‘I am satisfied with him, he used his bowlers in the best way, it is unfortunate that he did not score runs’.”
According to the head coach, ‘Babar is a world class player who has given a lot to our nation and team’.
He said, “People sitting outside cannot assess what is going on in the dressing room or in the minds of the players, they only start commenting after the match with the scorecard in hand.”
While addressing a press conference, Saqlain Mushtaq said, ‘Commentators do not see exactly which player is going through which time or what kind of injury he has, Asif Ali’s hand was splited, he was playing with four stitches’.
Regarding Shadab, the head coach revealed that ‘he was bleeding from his ear while fielding due to a head injury (concussion) but still he went to bat, so these people don’t know the condition of the players’.
Responding to criticism of the national team’s middle order, the head coach said that: ‘people say shuffle the players, change their positions, but by doing that it will show that maybe we don’t trust our players.’
