Asad Umar warns Pakistan only weeks away from Sri Lanka-like situation

Expressing grave concerns on the deteriorating economic condition, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar expressed fear that Pakistan is only weeks away from becoming Sri-Lanka.
Former Federal Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar has said that the country’s foreign exchange reserves are rapidly declining and it is becoming difficult to get funds from outside. Situations in Pakistan like Sri Lanka are not months but weeks away.

He said that cotton production has increased by 18.6% from last year, sugarcane production by 6% more than last year and record crop of Pakistan’s history has been produced, similarly rice crop is more than 9 million tons which last year. 10.7% more than the year before.
Congratulating the nation, Asad Umar said that the crop of maize and potato has also increased to a record level at a time when the whole world was in the grip of inflation. Imran Khan’s farmer-friendly policies in Pakistan have led to record production of four major crops in Pakistan.
Talking about the growth of industries, the former federal minister said that large scale manufacturing grew by 10.4 percent, last year it had increased by 11%, for the first time in five years, an increase of more than 10 percent for two consecutive years, there was no increase of even 7% before that.
He further added that exports had increased by 26% this year and there was no Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan except Imran Khan who had paid attention to exports. Exports are essential for the development of Pakistan.
More than 10% electricity was generated this year as compared to last year, Asad added.
He said that on the one hand foreign exchange reserves were falling and on the other hand it was becoming difficult to get money from outside and at present they [coalition government] were not getting money from anywhere.
“Miftah Ismail is looking at Shahbaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif is looking at Ishaq Dar, Ishaq Dar is looking at Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif is looking at Asif Zardari and Asif Zardari, and I don’t know who they are looking at.” Asad said.
