Arrest warrants against Saba Qamar, Bilal Saeed issued

LAHORE: Judicial magistrate has issued arrest warrants against actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed in a case pertaining to shooting of a song at Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore.
Judicial Magistrate Jawariya Munir Bhatti issued the arrest warrants.
When the challan was presented, the court summoned actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed but they did not appear. The court issued arrest warrants for both of them for October 6. Earlier in the court, Akbari Gate police had registered a case against him for violating the sanctity of the mosque by dancing during the shooting.
It should to be noted that a case was registered against singer Bilal Saeed and actress Saba Qamar on the issue of filming of song in Wazir Khan Mosque. Section 295 has been included in the FIR. The plaintiff has accused Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed of violating the sanctity of the mosque.

It may be recalled that singer Bilal Saeed had apologized for recording the video of the song in Wazir Khan Mosque while he had announced not to include the scene of Wazir Khan Mosque in the video.
In August 2020, a session court of Lahore had granted pre-arrest bail to singer Bilal Saeed and actress Saba Qamar till Aug 25 in the case. The bail had been granted against surety bonds worth Rs25,000.
Advocate Farhat Manzoor had lodge an FIR at Akbari Gate police station under section 295 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) against the celebrities for video shoot of the song Qubool at the mosque.
The advocate had said that they hurt sentiments of Muslims.
Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar had apologized over their act from masses. In a video message, Saeed had said he was also a Muslim and could not do anything that went against Islam.
