Armed forces ready to face internal, external challenges: President Arif

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi on Wednesday said the country’s armed forces were capable and ready to face internal and external challenges.
“The armed forces stood in complete synergy during the two decade long war on terrorism,” said the president while addressing a ceremony after witnessing the Pakistan Air Force (PAF)’s fire power demonstration in Sonmiani.
He said Pakistan forces had also demonstrated their resolve and capability against any aggression.

President Arif Alvi said Pakistan wished to maintain peaceful relations with all the nations especially the neighbors. He however said we were not oblivious to safeguarding our national interests and sovereignty.
“Pakistan will always stand by the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination,” he said.
He urged the international community to bring an end to blatant human rights violations and curfew in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and expedite the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
Strongly hailing the professionalism and capabilities of the PAF, the president said the air force had a proud history of defending the country’s aerial frontiers. He was also appreciative of the PAF’s pursuit for modernization through indigenization.
On Nov 4, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said Pakistan Army was organ of the state would continue to support national institutions as and when asked as per the constitution.
“While Pak Armed Forces are fully prepared to thwart all threats, continuous cohesion of national stakeholders on key national issues is essential to defeat inimical forces,” General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said during Corps Commanders Conference at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
The conference had reviewed geo strategic and national security environment. Internal security and security situation along eastern border, the Line of Control and the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed on this occasion.
