Are we living in 21st century or are we pushed back to the old ages?

Living in a male-dominant country means ignoring women talent, progress and hard work even in this 21st century where Pakistani women are working shoulder to shoulder with men.
Unfortunately, even to this day, a woman’s ability to have a successful and happy marriage is based on domestic skills like tailoring, sewing, cooking, and cleaning.
A pamphlet of an alleged ‘Dulhan Course’ has gone viral which promises to prepare girls for a successful married life. The course features tailoring/sewing, cooking, mehndi, beauty tips and finance/budgeting. Although, the pamphlet is from Hyderabad, India but Pakistani women felt the same rage as Indians.

Is it only a woman’s responsibility to build a happy marriage and to run the house smoothly? This sacred relationship is run by both husband and wife. The key factors to live a happy married life are love, understanding, respect, forgiveness and harmony not a woman being a maid. But, sigh!
There are many women who work hard in establishing a successful career for themselves as well as build a happy home after marriage. They know how to live a balanced life but the society puts burden on a woman’s shoulders only to maintain the bond.
Recently, Mrs. Khan, a Karachi-based match maker blamed women for the increasing rate of divorce in Pakistan.
