Are we living in 21st century or are we pushed back to the old ages?

by Web Desk September 4, 2019

AA

Are we living in 21st century or are we pushed back to the old ages?

Living in a male-dominant country means ignoring women talent, progress and hard work even in this 21st century where Pakistani women are working shoulder to shoulder with men.

Unfortunately, even to this day, a woman’s ability to have a successful and happy marriage is based on domestic skills like tailoring, sewing, cooking, and cleaning.

A pamphlet of an alleged ‘Dulhan Course’  has gone viral which promises to prepare girls for a successful married life. The course features tailoring/sewing, cooking, mehndi, beauty tips and finance/budgeting. Although, the pamphlet is from Hyderabad, India but Pakistani women felt the same rage as Indians.

Is it only a woman’s responsibility to build a happy marriage and to run the house smoothly? This sacred relationship is run by both husband and wife. The key factors to live a happy married life are love, understanding, respect, forgiveness and harmony not a woman being a maid. But, sigh!

There are many women who work hard in establishing a successful career for themselves as well as build a happy home after marriage. They know how to live a balanced life but the society puts burden on a woman’s shoulders only to maintain the bond.

Recently, Mrs. Khan, a Karachi-based match maker blamed women for the increasing rate of divorce in Pakistan.

Many on Twitter criticized the organisation over the title of the course ‘Dulhan Course’.

There you have it, “HOW TO LIVE SUCCESSFUL MARRIED LIFE” the “Dulhan Course” ,guest speaker Mrs. khan 🙈
Ps:
do share if someone has curriclum details of the “Dulha Course” 🙄 pic.twitter.com/TfgmVCo7Cd
