ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the introduction of a law on castration for sexual offenders.
During the discussion on legislation to prevent incidents of abuse in the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, the Prime Minister said that it was a matter of serious nature and there would be no delay in legislation.
He said that legislation would be enacted in a clear and transparent manner for the protection of the people. Strict enforcement will be ensured.
In the meeting, some ministers also demanded that the death penalty for rape be made a part of the law. Faisal Wawda, Azam Swati and Noorul Haq Qadri supported the execution.
Imran Khan said that the legal team has completed the work on the draft rape law ordinance. The Prime Minister opined that initially we have to move towards the law of castration.
He said women’s policing, fast-track cases and witness protection would also be a key part of the law.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to take the nation into confidence over the Corona situation. Imran Khan has already hinted at a complete lockdown in the country. He said that the DM would be responsible for the lockdown and its consequences.
The number of corona patients on ventilators has increased in the last 15 days. In Peshawar and Multan, the number of patients on ventilators increased by 200%. In Karachi 148, Lahore 114, Islamabad 65% of the patients have gone on ventilators.
The Prime Minister said that the use of ventilator in Islamabad and Multan is 70%. In Peshawar and Multan, the number of patients on ventilators has increased by 200%.
Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that cases should be registered against the party leadership and the organizers of the meeting. Court and government orders on the Corona situation are clear.
He said that the final decision on registration of cases would be taken by the federal cabinet. In such cases, the outcome of the PDM meeting can be very dangerous.
