Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chairman of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), will preside over a meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership today (Monday) to address the country’s changing political scenario.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and Vice-President Maryam Nawaz are expected to attend the conference, which will discuss a variety of subjects including electoral reforms, the usage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), inflation, and the NAB (Amendment) Ordinance 2021.
The leaders are also expected to discuss the PDM’s protest plan for November and December, as well as the Opposition’s anticipated Islamabad march.
On Sunday, Fazl stated that the Opposition will organise nationwide rallies against rising prices over the next two weeks.
“As soon as we complete celebrating Eid Milad un Nabi (SAW), we will launch a fight against inflation,” he told the journalists following an informal gathering with PDM members at his house.
Following a phone call with Fazl the same day, Shahbaz Sharif announced that the Opposition will launch a campaign to combat growing prices in Pakistan.
On Sunday, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated that the PPP will continue its anti-government campaign until Prime Minister Imran Khan is overthrown.
Addressing a gathering in Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah in honour of those martyred in the twin terror strikes in the city’s Karsaz region in 2007, Bilawal said that the countdown to the government’s doom has begun.
As he proceeded to criticise the existing PTI administration, the PPP leader stated that the public is suffering from historic inflation.
