KARACHI: Sindh Anti Corruption Establishment officials have said that they would seek approval from the relevant authorities to arrest the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Haleem Adil Sheikh for his alleged involved in land scam.
The Sindh ACE has prepared a final report against Haleem Adil Sheikh, after it busted a network of fake housing societies on Karachi Superhighway. A group namely Golf City Properties launched six housing societies schemes. On investigation, it was found that the housing societies built on government property were shown to be private through fake documents.
The ACE officials said the public properties were occupied in connivance with revenue authority officers. The Anti Corruption Establishment said all the schemes belonged to Palm Group of Companies as Gold City Properties was its subsidiary organization. They said Haleem Adil Sheikh was the chairman of Palm Group of Companies.
The PTI leader was occupying hundreds of acres worth billions of rupees. He launched illegal projects and housing schemes on government properties, including Palm Dreams, Dream Villas, Dream Farm Houses, Golf CommEstablishmenty, Walk Up Apartments, Karachi Hills and Sehwan Hills projects.
All the private projects and schemes on public land have been launched on Tariq Qureshi’s name, who works as Haleem Sheikh’s front man, the ACE report said.
The anti corruption department said the Sindh Building Control Authority had been informed about the fake land. It said neither a fake scheme or project could get lease or could get its map passed. It said an investigation report was completed last day and sent to the relevant authority.
