Anoushey Ashraf feels happy for women to perform Hajj, Umrah without Mahram

Anoushey Ashraf is delighted by the recent decision made by Saudia Arabia’s government which has allowed women pilgrims to perform Hajj or Umrah from any part of the world without a mahram (male guardian).

Anoushey Ashraf who is very outspoken about many other social issues recently shared her two cents on the recent decision made by the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah.

Taking to Instagram, Anoushey wrote, “women have the most freedom in Islam. Unfortunately them not being able to visit Allah’s house on their own was just another way to curb them from being independent. How it is a sin otherwise is out of my understanding”.

“Men and women mix there anyway, irrespective of who you’re travelling with. For me to get to the inner Circle was an ordeal and a half, was pushed around by men and women alike. They could certainly make it more orderly though”, she further added.

While talking about the criticism she warned her followers and wrote, “please don’t quote any books here that were written hundreds of years after the Prophet (saw) I can’t believe everything is word for word blindly and that is my right. I’m as Muslim as you for I too believe in One God and that Muhammad (saw) is his final messenger!”
