Another student committed suicide after scoring poorly in ETEA test
Suicide is a deliberate act to end one’s life or to kill oneself. Every 40 second someone dies by suicide somewhere around the globe. Every year, a million people commit suicide.
In the past few years suicide rate among youngsters are increasing drastically. Almost daily, 5 to 6 youngsters attempt to suicide. Nowadays, the youngsters who are attempting or committing suicide are mostly students.
Students in Pakistan have a pressure to achieve higher grades in order to have a bright future for themselves and for their parents. In order to have a successful life in Pakistan, students have only two options to opt, either to become a doctor or an engineer.
This year, 43,827 candidates appeared in entrance test for admissions to the public and private medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwan. There have been several cases that have been emerged recently where students took their life for facing failure or not scoring better.
Another student, Asif, who appeared in this test but failed to achieve high scores, took his life.
The entire country is enraged at Asif’s demise, blaming the educational standards and parents who are hard on their children.
