Another cold wave to grip Karachi from today

Weather analyst Jawad Memon on Tuesday predicted that another cold wave is likely to grip Karachi from today (Tuesday) till January 28 (Saturday) with the temperature expected to drop to 4-6 °C for the next four days in the metropolis.
He said that under the influence of new system, the temperature may drop to 5-8°C in the central and eastern parts of Karachi, while the southern part will experience cold snaps of 9-11°C.
Week long cold wave could be the last of winter 2023 in Karachi, he added.
On the other hand, mercury dropped to -17.8°C in Ziarat after recent heavy snowfall in Balochistan.
The extreme weather brought life to a standstill in many cities as the water froze in pipelines and frost making highways and link roads slippery, resulting in traffic disruptions.
The weather also disrupted the water supply as pipelines burst after water froze inside them.
