ANF seizes 421 kg narcotics, arrests 18 including three women

KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday seized 421 kilogram narcotics worth 653 million rupees internationally and arrested 18 culprits including three women.
In a statement, the ANF said that eight vehicles had also been taken into custody, being used for drug smuggling during 20 counter-narcotic strikes across the country.
It said that seized drugs comprised of 374 kg hashish, 26.6 kg opium, 10.6 kg heroin, 435 bottles of local wine, 112 tins beer and others.

It said all cases were registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigations were underway.
On Sept 14, police had recovered 70 kilogram narcotics during searching of a car in Pattoki.
The suspects had left the car upon seeing the police mobile van coming towards them near Dholan village in suburban area of the city.
The deputy superintendent police Pattoki had said high quality of marijuana and opium worth lacs of rupees was found in secret pockets of the vehicle. The DSP had announced cash reward and appreciation certificates for the team members involved in recovery of the drugs.
