Ameesha Patel reacts to ‘Silly’ rumours of dating Imran Abbas, calls him her ‘buddy’
Pakistani heartthrob Imran Abbas and Bollywood diva Ameesha Patel made headlines after the star met in Bahrain during an award show. After attending the same college in the US, the “old friends” rekindled their friendship and have been together ever since.
A few days ago, Imran Abbas also shared different videos with the actress and both of them have seen having fun together. During an Instagram live session, they talked about strengthening ties between Pakistan and India as well.
After the duo was spotted together, a rumour of dating was rife in the media. Recently speaking to Hindustan times, Ameesha Patel reacted to the rumours and shared she chuckled at the mention of such reports. She said, “I read them too and had a huge laugh about it. The whole thing is just crazy and full of silliness. I was meeting my buddy after so many years. So, it was just a catch-up”.
The Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actress also spoke about the viral video with Imran. She also posted the same video on her Instagram handle, which has apparently sparked dating rumours. She clarified it by stating, “He happens to love that song of mine. It’s his favourite song… We just did an impromptu thing, which was recorded by a friend. It came out so cute, so we posted it. It was not planned”.
She further stated, “We have known each other for many years, since the time I studied with him at a university in the US. And I have stayed in touch with most of my friends in Pakistan, who just love India. Abbas belongs to the film industry there, and we have a lot more to talk about”.
“We met at the event and decided to catch up later, that’s when the video just happened organically”, Ameesha concluded.
