LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday said that all the terrorists involved in Johar Town bomb blast incident were arrested.
“The CTD identified the suspected criminals within 16 hours and arrested them in four days of the incident. The suspects were arrested quite professionally,” said Usman Buzdar while addressing a press conference along with Punjab Inspector General Inam Ghani.
The chief minister said that the suspects had links with the foe’s intelligence agency, who was financially supporting them. He also said that the Punjab government had resolved all the high profile cases in the province and arrested suspects involved in them.
He said three people were killed and 22 others wounded in the blast. It was a test case for the government to trace the culprits, he added.
The IG police said that not just the culprits were involved but their aiders and abettors were also nabbed.
He also dismissed the report that the suspects were roaming freely despite being placed on Fourth Schedule list. He said they had never been on the list.
On June 25, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) had arrested a foreign suspect named Peter Paul David from the Lahore airport. David was owner of the car used in the blast. The car was stolen in 2010 from Gujranwala and had been sold to multiple people.
