All Sindh private and government educational institutions will remain closed on February 27 and February 28, the Sindh Minister of Education said on Wednesday.
The decision came after two cases of coronavirus in Pakistan were identified. One was confirmed to have been in Karachi.
The 22-year-old man has been diagnosed with the virus in Karachi according to health officials. The patient had just traveled from Karachi to Iran. Aga Khan University Hospital has placed the man and his family in quarantine.
The health department said the patient was on an aircraft heading to Karachi from Iran.
The cases have also been confirmed by Dr Zafar Mirza, the special assistant to health for Prime Minister Imran Khan. One case has been reported from Sindh and the other from a “federal” province, he said.
