Over a dozen ballistic missiles were launched by Iran targeting at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. forces and coalition forces in Iraq.
According to a state television release, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps reported that they launched the missiles to retaliate for Qassem Soleimani’s killing last week.
“We know about rumors of attacks in Iraq on US installations. The president was briefed and is closely monitoring the situation and advising his national security team,” Grisham said in a statement.
