Ali Gul Pir’s video mirrored a viral video in which a lady, nicknamed on social media as “desi Karen,” was shown screaming and fighting with restaurant workers when they requested her to provide a Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
Ali Gul Pir, a well-known Pakistani comedian and musician, took to Twitter to urge people to respect restaurant employees and get vaccinated before dining out.
“When desi Karen learns a new word VIOLATION and decides to defy law and go dine in without showing a vaccination card,” the comedian wrote in a tweet of hilarious spoof of the original video.
Ali Gul Pir further added, “BUT SERIOUSLY GUYS, treat restaurant staff with respect and go dine in but get vaccinated first, it’s the law.”
A dispute erupted between a diner and restaurant employees in the metropolis when the woman refused to wear a mask or present her vaccine immunisation certificate.
The diner, who claimed to be a human rights activist, accused the restaurant employees of “violating her constitutional right” when they requested her to present her vaccination certificate in a video that went viral on social media.
“Good job Asad for doing the right thing & standing up against such rude behaviour. I was a fan of ur sandwiches now also a fan of ur calm assertiveness,” Karachi administrator Murtaza Wahab rushed to Twitter to praise the restaurant employee.
It should be highlighted that the Pakistani government has demanded that individuals present a vaccination certificate if they want to dine in at eateries.
