Alam Lohar being remembered on his 41st death anniversary

LAHORE: The 41st death anniversary of legendary Punjabi singer Alam Lohar is being observed on Friday.

Alam Lohar was born in 1928 at Achh in District Gujrat of Punjab. The singer developed a new style of singing.

He is credited for popularizing the term jugni in music industry. He had started singing at the age of 12.

He is famous for his rendition of Heer Waris Shah along with other songs such as Saif ul Maluk.

Alam Lohar was awarded Pride of Performance Award in 1979.
