Ajmal Pahari released from Sukkur Jail, acquitted in all cases

SUKKUR: Ajmal Pahari, who was actively wanted by the police for being involved in serious crimes during the 1992 operation in Karachi, has been released from Sukkur Central Jail after being acquitted in all cases and bail in four cases.
Ajmal Pahari’s name came to light from Orangi Town in 1992 for the terrorism in Karachi. According to police sources, Ajmal Pahari was arrested for being involved in more than 50 cases. During the Musharraf regime, Ajmal Pahari was released on bail in all the 50 cases.
In 2010, Rangers arrested Ajmal Pahari again on charges of killing 15 people. Within the next two years, Ajmal Pahari was acquitted in 11 murder cases. Ajmal Pahari was granted bail in four other murder cases, but police re-arrested him from Karachi Central Jail after serving three months in jail for fear of disturbing the peace.
Police arrested Ajmal Pahari again in 12 cases, including four murder cases. Ajmal Pahari remained imprisoned in Karachi Central Jail till early 2019, however in 2019 he was transferred to Sukkur Central Jail.
According to sources, at the time of his release from Sukkur Central Jail, Ajmal Pahari’s appearance had changed completely. Ajmal Pahari was taken to Karachi from Sukkur. The family confirmed Ajmal’s release and arrival in Karachi.
