Aisha Naz – the differently abled young mother and police officer who refused to be broken
Let’s meet a brave woman, a fearless mother and a dutiful police officer, Aisha Naz from Karachi who lost both her legs in an accident but spirits are high.
27-year-old Aisha Naz joined Sindh Police in 2018 and proved to be an excellent police officer, but an accident on 1st June 2020 changed her life. She was on her way to Police Station, when her bike collided with a water tanker, crushing her legs so severely that both legs had to be amputated.
Aisha breaks down as she narrates her accident, stating that she used to question why she was still alive because it would have been better to die than live with no legs.
“When I looked at my legs, I always questioned why I survived,” she said.
Ayesha further narrated her story that how she used to cry whenever she saw the wheelchair, thinking that it was for the elderly person.
“From legs to wheel chair, the process is very difficult as I can’t describe in words,” she added.
Ayesha responded to a question about joining the Sindh Police by stating that, despite being a single mother of a 7-year-old son, she wanted to serve the country and the nation, for which she considered the police department as servant of people and wanted to join and finally succeeded in 2018.
Speaking of her personal life, Ayesha said, “My seven-year-old son is more courageous than me, which reminds me that one should fight hard no matter what the situation is.”
“I often ask my son if he prefers the present mother or the mother from back then, and he always replies, “I prefer the present mumma even though he knows I don’t have legs but he doesn’t want to hurt Me.” she added.
Ayesha concluded that this accident had reborn her, revealing to her the true meaning of life; before the accident, everything was normal for her, but now, after fighting with difficult situations she has understood the true and real meaning of life.
