After tomato, flour prices go up in Karachi
The price of flour has gone up in Karachi.
From Rs 60 to Rs 62, the price of fine flour has increased Rs 2 per kilogram. A 10 Kg sack of flour is now Rs 20 more expensive and costs 6s 620.
In the open market, the price of a sack of wheat has gone high from Rs 5000 to 5200.
The All Pakistan Flour Mills Association said that the price hike is because wheat has become expensive.
One of Karachi’s flour mill owners said that flour can only become cheap if wheat is sold at a lesser price in the open market.
“Flour sellers need more than 200,000 tons of flour daily,” a senior leader of the All Pakistan Flour Mills Association said. “We are just getting 50% of our requirement.”
