LAHORE: After the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Zardari on Wednesday also demanded to abolish the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
“The NAB should be abolished, which as per the Supreme Court judgment is a puppet organization of the establishment and government,” said Bilawal Zardari while addressing media in Lahore.
He said if the NAB chairman had any dignity then he should resign and go back home. The court verdict had established that the NAB was used for political engineering, he maintained adding that there was no legal status left for the NAB left after the court verdict.
“The parliament needs to take action forthwith against the NAB law. The accountability watchdog is not taking action against government’s mega corruption scandal. There’s no reason left for existence of the accountability bureau,” he said.

He said if assets beyond means of aides of the opposition parties were found then they would have been produced before the court every now and then, contrary to surfacing of assets of assistants of the ruling party.
“When I raises question about release of TTP leader Ahsanullah Ahsan in the National Assembly, no answer was given. When we talk about the government’s corruption we receive Ahsanullah Ashan’s threat,” he said.
Bilawal Zardari said the Ministry of Post Office was alleged of 118 billion rupees embezzlement.
He demanded to release political prisoners of the NAB following decision of the top court. A committee has been formulated which has started working on the multi-party conference, he maintained.
“You can threat me if you want, but who will give answer on the APS attack,” he said.
The PPP chairman also blamed the ruling party for ruining Punjab, which, he said, was the breadbasket of the country.
