After Moonis, Pervaiz Elahi says Gen (retd) Bajwa asked us to support PTI

Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi claimed that former chief of army staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had advised them to support PTI when the no-trust motion was moved against former prime minister Imran Khan.

In an interview with private news channel, Punjab CM said that Sharifs had tricked him five times.

“If they [PML-N] don’t let me run the government, then it doesn’t matter to me, I know that Imran Khan would let me do the service of province,” he added.

He maintained that both PTI and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had made offers to them, however, Gen (retd) Bajwa asked them to support the Khan-led party.

Elahi further said that Moonis also had the mind that PML-Q should support Imran Khan in no-confidence motion.

“Allah sent Gen (retd) Bajwa to show us the path, when I talked him that we have reservation with Sharifs, he advised that Imran Khan is better for you and your friends,” Elahi added.

Earlier, PML-Q leader and former federal minister Moonis Elahi claimed that former chief of army staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had advised them to support PTI when the no-trust motion was moved against former prime minister Imran Khan.

Moonis Elahi stressed that the maligning campaign against General Bajwa was wrong as the former COAS supported PTI during the no-confidence motion.

“Even he advised us to support PTI in no-confidence motion,” Elahi added.

He further questioned that if General Bajwa was part of the no-confidence motion then why would he ask PML-Q to support PTI.

“When he was giving you all-out support, he was right,” the PML-Q leader said, wondering if Bajwa had now become a traitor to them.

Moonis said that there was no doubt that the former COAS fully supported the PTI, but when he withdrew his support, he had become a bad person.
