RIYADH: The Saudi Arabian government has imposed curfew in major cities including capital Riyadh to prevent spread of Coronavirus epidemic.
According to a notification of Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, the cities where curfew has been imposed also include Jeddah, Taif, Qatif, Tabuk, Dammam, Dhahran, Hafouf and Khobar.
Few days ago, Saudi Arabia had extended curfew in the holy cities of Makkah and Madina, as part of measures to combat the novel coronavirus. The curfew had been extended to 24 hours from non-working hours.
The Saudi Arabian interior ministry had stipulated exceptions, including for essential workers and for residents allowed to buy food and access medical care.
29 people have died and 2,185 others are infected from the virus in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia had already stopped international flights, suspended the Umrah pilgrimage, shut down public places, and restricted inter-city movement.
