ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Afghanistan’s national cricket team in Kabul during his first visit to Afghanistan. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was also present on the occasion.
On Thursday, Pakistani premier visited Afghanistan, a neighboring country on Pakistan’s western border. Both Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and PM Imran Khan agreed on bilateral talks and coordination to resolve conflicts and restore peace in the region.
A cricket bat was also presented to PM Imran Khan as a gesture of goodwill by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. It is also noticeable that Imran Khan is quite famous and respected in the world as a cricketer including in Afghanistan.
Afghan cricketer and vice-captain of the national team Rashid Khan also greeted PM Khan on his social media account. In the same tweet he declared sports as a medium to create unity and peace and also wished that both teams would host each other in the future.
