Administrator Karachi announces to build 100 new public toilets

Newly-appointed Administrator Karachi Dr Saif-ur-Rehman has announced to build 100 new public toilets across the metropolis, it emerged on Friday.
Dr Saifur Rehman told that public toilets will be provided at markets, parks and bus stops in the city and half of the announced quantity will be reserved for women.
Karachi Administrator furthered that renowned architects will design these toilets. The initiative will be funded by civil society and non-governmental organizations (NGO) and the lands will be provided by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
Earlier, Dr Saif-ur-Rehman has announced to build a new ‘City Council Hall’ of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) with a seating capacity of 500 people.
He has also suspended the charged parking fees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) after assuming the office.
It should be noted that, the Sindh government has appointed him as the new Karachi Administrator on the proposal of MQM-P.
“In exercise of powers, vested U/s 21(3) of Sindh Local Government Act, 2013 […] and with the approval of the competent authority, upon acceptance of resignation of Barrister Murtaza Wahab […] Dr Syed Saif-urRehman, an officer of PAS (BS-20) […] is hereby appointed as Administrator, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation,” notification reads.
