ISLAMABAD: An accountability court (AC) in Islamabad has on Tuesday decided to indict former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur along with other suspects in the Park Lane reference and mega money laundering case on January 22.
AC judge Azam Khan held the hearing of the above cases today. Faryal Talpur appeared before the court whereas Farooq H. Naek, counsel for Asif Ali Zardari, filed a petition on behalf of his client seeking exemption from appearing due on medical grounds.
Farooq H. Naek told the court that the former president underwent medical treatment in Karachi as he is suffering from various diseases. The court ordered all suspects to ensure their attendance as the next hearing will issue charges.

The investigating officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) told the court that nine more suspects were mentioned in the supplementary reference to the mega money laundering case, while names of five individuals were removed from the list.
Notices have been served in the supplementary reference to Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Anwar Majeed, Abdul Ghani Majeed, Nimar Majeed, Hussain Lawai, Younus Kidwai and others.
The Park Lane reference hearings and the case for mega money laundering were postponed until January 22.
