I accept court verdict to let Nawaz Sharif go abroad: Imran Khan
HAVELIAN: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said he accepted the Lahore High Court verdict to let former prime minister Nawaz Sharif go abroad for medical treatment without signing any indemnity bond.
“I accept the LHC ruling for I respect the judiciary,” Imran Khan said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Havelian-Thakot section of Hazara motorway project in Havelian.
He said unprecedentedly his government had decided to let Nawaz go abroad and despite the opposition from his cabinet members he let him fly off on humanitarian grounds.
PM Khan said he had asked the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) to sign indemnity bond worth seven billion rupees, which held no value for them, however they created a ruckus against it and started blaming the government for putting hurdles in the treatment.
He said the PML-N leaders had plundered so much money that they could give Rs7 billion as a tip too.
Imran Khan mocked PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif for taking responsibility of his elder brother’s return to the country on completion of treatment. Imran Khan asked who would give guarantee for Shahbaz who himself had corruption cases on him.
He said Shahbaz’s son had also fled after looting millions of rupees, who will give his guarantee then.
PM Khan said Muslims were dishonored after they left the path of Islam. While the Muslim had attained glory after following the teachings of the holy Prophet Muhammed (SAWW), he added.
He also requested the chief justice to provide justice to liberate the country. He asked the judiciary to build people’s trust on it.
“The impression of separate legal systems for rich and poor should be eradicated,” he pleaded.
Imran Khan said if he wanted to run his government at ease he would have reconciled with the opposition parties and given them NRO just like Musharraf did.
“I want to tell all the mafias that Allah (SWT) has trained me to face the opposition. I am an expert in it. I know how to win after being defeated. I have attained this status after struggle of 22 years,” he said.
PM Khan compared the sit-in protest of the opposition parties to circus. “A circus was organized on a container in Islamabad.”
He said had they stayed for one month, he would have accepted all of their demands.
“We are the first government which took responsibility to look after the students of medressah and it hurt me to watch medressah students being used for political gains,” he said.
He said the more the corrupt, the louder he was crying against the government on the container. “They had come for blackmailing us.”
He took a jab at Bilawal Bhutto saying that his theory had flabbergasted big scientists like Einstein that “water is accumulated, when it rains”.
Imran Khan also announced that the center had decided to make hospital equipment duty free so that people come here to build hospitals.
“We are focusing on education then agriculture and industries would be our top priority. We are also paying attention towards housing industry as this lifts 40 industries along with it,” he said.
