Abida Parveen files copyright claim against Coke Studio’s Hairaan Hua

Coke Studio has landed it self again into trouble over copyright issues. After managing to resolve an almost irreconcilable copyrights matter with EMI, Coke Studio has again landed in hot waters.
Sanam Marvi’s first song for Coke Studio season 12 ‘Hairaan Hua’ has been taken off from YouTube just after a few days of its release. If you try to click on the video thumbnail available on Coke Studio’s older Twitter posts, you’ll get an automated response.”This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Sarang Latif Studios.” Sarang is Abida Parveen’s son, recently producing Bazm-e-Rang. The video has also been removed from YouTube.
According to details, Coke Studio could not be reached for a comment on this possible infringement claim, but Abida jee’s representative confirmed the news.
“Abida Parveen is travelling out of the country at the moment but the claim is true. Something in this sort was in the process.”
Before Hairaan Hua, Abrar-ul-Haq’s rendition of Billo was also taken off YouTube over a copyright claim by Karman Entertainment Limited.
Coke studio season 12 has failed us. With poor quality songs and the on-going copyright strikes by absolutely everyone, I don’t even want to listen to any song. While I. The past I at least used to listen to a song once to decide if it’s worth my time or not, now I don’t even

Second song of Coke Studio to be removed in this season following a copyright issue. This is what you get when your covering or remaking songs for almost a decade. Please start making original songs! #GetTheHint https://t.co/A7XUDvvXDc
