Aamir Liaquat’s body to be exhumed on June 23

A six-member medical board headed by police surgeon Dr. Samia Saeed has been formed for exhumation and postmortem as per court order to ascertain the cause of death of renowned TV anchor and former National Assembly member Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain and body will be exhumed on Thursday morning (June 23).
An order issued by the police surgeon’s office said that the team would leave the office of the police surgeon at 9am on Thursday, June 23 in the presence of Judicial Magistrate East for exhumation of Aamir Liaquat at the premises of Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine.
It was stated in the order that Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Samia Saeed will lead the team, in addition to the senior members Additional Police Surgeon Dr. Shahid Nizam, Forensic Expert Prof. Dr. Pervez Makhdoom and Dr. Hari Ram Lohana Dr. Gulzar Ali Solangi and Dr. Muhammad Areeb will be there as members.
It may be recalled that on June 18, a local court in Karachi had ordered an autopsy of renowned TV host and former National Assembly member Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain.
A petition for exhumation and postmortem of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain was filed in the court a day earlier and was heard by Judicial Magistrate Eastern Wazir Hussain Memon.
During the hearing, public prosecutor Sajjad Ali Dashti had argued that the heirs did not want an autopsy.
The court reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of the parties, after which court ordered a post mortem of Amir Liaquat.
