Member of National Assembly from the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Aamir Liaquat Hussain on Tuesday posted a picture on Twitter sarcastically criticising the opposition leader Maryam Nawaz by using the image of a Hindu deity.
The parliamentarian came under fire for disrespecting and hurting the sentiments of Hindu community as netizens condemned his actions.
The Rights group “Voice of Pakistan Minority” released a statement on social media: “Using the image of a #Hindu deity for his own political agenda. No doubt, why minorities don’t feel safe here. Coz power holder are the ones nurturing hatred into the citizens. Have some dignity and delete this post.”
Earlier, the MNA has remained a subject of criticism for using derogatory remarks against political opponents.
