A cop from the Punjab Police chose to step down from after CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh allegedly called him a “khotay ka bacha [Son of a donkey]” in an official meeting.

Sub-inspector Fahad Iftikhar Virk said, “I could not tolerate him abusing my father that was too much for me. He had played a key role in establishing the social media cell of the Punjab Police force and “always gave his best”.

He recalled that Sheikh asked him a question to which he replied in English. According to Fahad, he then “humiliated him”.

“His behavior is unbecoming of his rank as well as being illegal and immoral,” Fahad added.

The Lahore CCPO faced heavy critiicism for his remarks earlier this month on live television, where he questioned why the Lahore gang-rape victim was “out alone so late at night with her children”.
