ISLAMABAD: A total of 980,000 Pakistanis have been sent abroad for employment within two years by the ruling government.
On the occasion of World’s Migrants day, which is being observed on Friday 18th December (today), Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, said this in a statement.
He said 6.75 percent in the economy of Pakistan had been increased due to the contribution of overseas Pakistanis.
He further added, that $21.84 billion remittances had been received by Pakistan in spite of covid-19 crisis.
“Pakistan has signed bilateral Memorandums of Understanding in terms of labour with Saudi Arabia, Algeria, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia, South Korea, Bahrain, Japan and others,” he relayed.
