The relief and rescue work at the site of plane crash near Karachi airport continues and 97 dead bodies have been recovered from the debris until now while the two survivors of the crash are under treatment in the hospital.

According to spokesperson of the Provincial Health Department, 66 bodies of the crash victims have been shifted to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) while 31 dead bodies are in Civil Hospital.

She said 19 bodies have been identified so far.

Meanwhile, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Humayon Aziz also visited the place of the tragic incident and reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operation.

He said that on the directive of COAS, personnel of Pakistan Army and Rangers are busy in rescue operation.

Sample Collection Unit for DNA tests of plane crash victims, families established in Karachi

A Sample Collection Unit for DNA tests of plane crash victims and their families has been established at Forensic DNA Lab University of Karachi.

According to the Sindh Health Department, family members of the passengers of PK-8303 may visit for samples that would be required for cross match.

The family members of the passenger plane can also contact on telephone numbers 111222292-370, 0342-2762024 and 0331-9092132 for any kind of assistance.

Karachi administration, PIA & CAA announce telephone numbers for bereaved families

The Karachi administration, PIA and Civil Aviation Authority have announced telephone numbers for the bereaved families of those who died in the tragic plane crash in Karachi.

CAA establishes helpline to keep update relatives of the passengers on board PK8303

The Civil Aviation Authority has also established a helpline which will remain functional round the clock for keeping updated the family members and relatives of the PK-8303 passengers.

According to a CAA official, the people based in Lahore can approach the facility via telephone number 042-990312153 while the numbers for Karachi are 021-99072385 and 021-99072384.
