According to an NGO report, 40 women were among the 96 suicides reported last year, with the vast majority of those who ended their lives were married.

According to the NGO report, misuse of social media and underage marriages have emerged as the main reasons for this situation.

‘People are being blackmailed by misuse of social media’

According to NGO researcher Sardar Bhai, people are being blackmailed by the misuse of social media, many children who have committed suicide have also written letters.

He said that child marriages were taking place against their will, adding that early marriages were also a cause of suicide.

According to the report, many suicides go unreported, with heirs trying to cover up the incident for fear of scandal, while police officials say they focus more on the possibility of murder in such cases.
